About CourseCrafter

These terms apply to the CourseCrafter service. Contact us at hello@coursecrafter.co.uk.

By using the service, you agree to these terms. Paid plans are also subject to the subscription and refund terms.

The service

CourseCrafter creates suggested running, walking and cycling routes using third-party map, routing, surface and elevation data. It can preview routes, estimate distance and duration, save routes on your device, publish shareable route links and export compatible GPX files.

Generated distances, times, surfaces, elevation, access information and directions are estimates. Availability and results can vary by location and by the quality of third-party data.

Your safety and responsibility

• Check road type, surface, public access, closures, crossings, weather, daylight and local restrictions.
• Follow the Highway Code, rights-of-way rules, signs and instructions from landowners or authorities.
• Do not rely on CourseCrafter as your only means of navigation or emergency support.
• Use equipment, clothing, visibility measures and fitness appropriate for the route and conditions.
• Stop or change route whenever real-world conditions differ from the preview or feel unsafe.

Your use of CourseCrafter

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive and revocable right to use CourseCrafter and exported GPX files for lawful personal route planning. You must not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt to obtain private access credentials, scrape it at scale, resell access, or use shared links to publish unlawful or harmful material.

You are responsible for route names and content you choose to share. Do not include another person’s private information without permission.

Accounts, devices and subscriptions

CourseCrafter remembers saved routes and Pro access on a browser or device rather than through a conventional user account. Clearing browser storage, changing browser or changing device can remove that local information. Subscribers can restore Pro on another browser using the secure, time-limited email link available from the Pro window.

GPX downloads require an active CourseCrafter Pro subscription or authorised complimentary access. Subscription pricing, renewal and cancellation are explained on the subscriptions page.

Third-party services and devices

Maps, routing, elevation, payment processing and compatible watch or route apps are supplied by independent providers. Their services and terms may change. References to Garmin, COROS, Suunto, Polar, Wahoo or other brands describe intended compatibility and do not imply endorsement or partnership.

We cannot guarantee that every GPX file will import or behave identically on every device or app. Always inspect the imported route before relying on it.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep CourseCrafter available and useful, but routing providers, networks and maintenance can cause interruption. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features, provided this does not remove rights that consumers have by law. Material changes affecting a paid service will be communicated where reasonably possible.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.

Subject to that, CourseCrafter is not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate or incomplete third-party mapping data, a user’s failure to inspect a route, unsafe or unlawful route use, loss of locally stored routes, or matters outside our reasonable control. For consumers, we remain responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill.

Intellectual property

CourseCrafter’s brand, software, design and original content belong to the operator or relevant licensors. Map and data providers retain rights in their material and receive attribution where required. These terms do not transfer ownership to you.

Ending access

You may stop using CourseCrafter at any time. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, users or third parties, or in response to unlawful or seriously abusive use. Ending a subscription is covered by the subscription terms.

Law and complaints

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer elsewhere in the UK, you retain any mandatory protections and may bring proceedings in the courts available where you live.
